The second project I took on in Anna's room makeover was what I call her bookshelf closet, for lack of something better. It's a cheap piece of furniture we bought at Wal-Mart years ago when we bought our first house. We used it to store canned goods and other groceries because we didn't have very many cabinets in our first kitchen. Anyway, it's had many uses and now Anna tells me she wants to put her clothes in it (since her dresser is falling apart) so that's what we're going to do. We just wanted to make it fit with the theme in her new room, so a little re-doing was in order.

The "Before" pictures:

I painted the cabinet with a fast-drying white semi-gloss paint and then spray painted the doors gloss black with the cheap 96 cent Wal-Mart brand paint. I used zebra print scrapbook paper for the rectangles on the door and mod-podged them on and then sealed the whole door with Mod Podge. I lined the shelves with a variety of black and white and pink and black scrapbook papers, and spray painted the handles with a silver fast-drying spray paint. We think it turned out pretty neat!

I will be painting her walls this week while I'm off work and she got new bedding for Christmas. Hopefully her room will be finished soon!!
