Little Miss turns 7!!

Anna was born on May 13, 2002. On Wednesday, she turned 7 years old. But the day that really sticks out in my mind is May 15. On that day in 2002, I got the phone call we had been waiting and praying for and the news that would change our family forever. A healthy baby girl had been born in Guatemala.She was 2 days old. Our case worker asked me if we were ready to accept a referral...umm, heck yes! I was on my lunch break at a computer training in Springfield, MO. We were walking into the Cheddar's restaurant there when I got the call on my cell phone. Needless to say, I don't remember much else about my lunch that day or even if I ate anything at all for that matter. I do remember I spent a lot of time on the phone with John and my dad. After more than 200 pages of adoption paperwork, there really was a baby girl and she was waiting for us!! Her name would be Anna Joyace, after my mom, her grandma Joyace Ann. Now, somehow, that baby girl is 7 years old!

It still amazes me how God brought this little girl to our family! She fits perfectly - always has!! I love you, sweet girl!! Happy birthday!!!
